Commissioned by Thomas and Barbara Wirick and designed by Calvin Straub in 1958, this 1,744-square-foot Poppy Peak residence is a defining work of California post-and-beam architecture. A precise modular grid, slender timber beams and broad panes of glass shape its bright interiors, while bold cantilevers anchor the house to its steep Pasadena hillside.
